NORDSTROM PRINT DESIGN
Print Design | 2023

As a Print Technician at Nordstrom, I played a pivotal role in managing and maintaining the print production library for a variety of Nordstrom's Kids Apparel brands, such as Nordstrom, Melrose and Market, Nordstrom Rack, and Treasure & Bond. A major aspect of my responsibilities involved working with design directors and cross-functional teams to ensure that motif prints aligned perfectly with brand aesthetics and design vision. I utilized Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and NedGraphics to recolor, amend, and create prints that captured the essence of each brand.

Outcome
Specialized in print for Kids apparel and a keen eye for color. Known for effectively managing to deadlines, being versatile, and helping create artwork where needed during high stress periods. I established trust within my team by diligently collaborating, demonstrating a deep comprehension of technical constraints and business strategies, and leveraging data-driven insights to inform decisions and achieve tangible outcomes.
Responsibilities
To ensure high-quality output, I diligently assessed strike-off samples, yarn dyes, and knit downs for color, layout, and print technique approval. Regularly engaging in scheduled meetings with design directors and cross-functional teams, I actively contributed to the development of print briefs and confidently presented print design concepts for each season.

Drawing upon trend forecasting and consumer trend analysis, I played a key role in shaping design decisions. By tracking the evolution of past and present trends and predicting future consumer preferences, I helped create prints that resonated with Nordstrom's target audience. We actively engaged in numerous on-site evaluations to observe our products live in the store. This invaluable exercise facilitated the identification of both strengths and weaknesses in specific print executions, enhancing our insights to strengthen overall quality in subsequent iterations.

Efficiency and collaboration were central to my approach. Spearheading the transition to new project management tools, including MS Planner and Mural, I streamlined workflows, enhancing the overall efficiency of print development. Working closely with designers, I ensured that color ways and layout changes adhered to brand standards through the use of Pantone matching and meticulous printouts for design review.

ORIGINAL PRINT
Rust Leaf Patchwork

My first original print design went live on the Nordstrom website in June 2023! I had a lot of fun designing this print for the Treasure & Bond Camp Shirt. Treasure & Bond's SS Camp has been the top selling style for Boys the last 3 years and I am thankful for the opportunity to feature one of my print designs on this product!
ORIGINAL PRINT
Green Eyes Butterfly Gingham

My second original print design to go live on the Nordstrom website was a Butterfly Gingham print in September 2023! This sweater embraces the Nordstrom brand's East Coast Preppy vibe while throwing in a bright and lively pattern ideal for the spirited young gal.

Tan Oxford Flower Gingham

My third original print design will be live on the Nordstrom website come winter 2023! This was another cute Gingham print I designed for a Baby dress for a dainty Bubble Sleeve Dress in the Nordstrom brand. The dress is a Yarn dye with a printed floral accent to execute a soft and sweet print for Nordstrom Baby.
